Theme: Part-time jobs (2)
Kanjimi3 went on location to three different locations to try out different part-time jobs. Jobs that they weren't told about *g*
Maru's job was to wash windows of tall buildings. You know, standing in those little cages? He freaked out a bit about how high it was, but he seemed mostly okay with it. He kept saying "uwah!" and the guy he was working with kept telling him to be quiet.
Yassu went to a random apartment, but it was like a little mini-office inside. The guys working there hardly talked to him, it was a little weird.. They had him change, and told him what he'll be doing: exterminating bugs. The look on Yassu's face was priceless *g* They went to a woman's house, who NEVER cleans, so there are a bunch of cockroaches. In the studio, Uchi was freaking out just looking at the cockroach feces that Yassu had to clean up.
Next, Tacchon. He went to a zoo for his job. His outfit looked a little cowboy-ish to me *g* His first job was to rake up sheep feces! Then he had to help the zookeeper clean a 3.5m snake's cage, by holding the snake on his shoulders. He was freaking out! But eventually he got it on him, while whining the whole time.
Back to Maru, he's taking a break and talking to the other workers about what's good and bad about the job. Next he has to sit on a little bench held by a rope, and wash the wall. Then he was done!
Back to Yassu, now it's time to seal the cracks with a paste that kills cockroaches, and then he finished too!
Last, Tacchon. He cleaned the penguin cage, brushed a ... thing, and then fed a white tiger some raw meat by hand. It was through a cage, but it'd still be scary! (I guess?) Lastly, he had to go through a dark tunnel to feed...bats! I LOVE BATS♥ They weren't used to seeing him, so they were kind of scared and flying around, scaring him.
In the studio, they talked to Kanjimi3 and said that Tacchon is their leader.
At the end, they got paid. Maru got 9000Y, Yassu got 15000Y (3000Y an hour for five hours), and Tacchon got 4250Y (850Y an hour for five hours).
Also, the top three minimum wages for various areas was given. 710Y for Tokyo, 708Y for Kanagawa, and 704Y for Osaka.
Theme: Yakiniku
In the studio, they had a little grill and some meat that they grilled and ate. (I can't stand the way Subaru holds chopsticks^^
. As they ate, they were basically just trying to out-reaction the others. Uchi, as usual, squealed like a little girl. So Subaru smacked him on the head with a squeaky hammer!
Uchi went on location with the usual announcer, Yanai, to learn about the best way to eat yakiniku. The expert guy gave a specific order in which you're supposed to eat the dishes.
(1) Yukke. Before you eat cooked things, eat the raw things first.
(2) Tanshio. Since salted things (shio) have a weaker flavor than ones with sauce (tare), you eat a salt thing first. Tan (beef tongue) is first because it has the cleanest taste. When you cook tanshio, you DON'T turn it over. You let the juices collect on the top, and you eat it without spilling those juices.
(3) Roast. Since tan and harami are organs, you eat roast (which is meat). Basically you alternate between organs and meat. When you cook roast, you barely cook it at all; just a few seconds on each side.
(4) Harami. This is only logical, since it's the only remaining salted option left.
(5) Kalbi. This follows the organs-meat-organs-meat pattern. To cook kalbi, you cook lightly on one side, then turn it over and let the other side get crispy.
(6) Hormone. He didn't give any tips on how to cook hormone :/
Back in the studio, they cooked another type of meat. Mariko ate some too, but when she tried putting it into her mouth it bumped her lip awkwardly, so they all laughed. (It really wasn't THAT funny..)
Next, Uchi went to a yakiniku all-you-can-eat to see if the price is worth it. He went to a restaurant that was 3000Y for men, for 90 minutes. At this place, you have to eat: tanshio, salad, kimchi, kalbi, chicken thighs, and roast before you can order anything else. (Honestly, I'd be full just from that). After that, he'd eaten 1500Y worth of food! Next, he decided to order kalbi exclusively because it's the most expensive menu item, at 620Y for a serving. He finished it up, which ended up being 2740Y worth of food total. So he ordered two more servings of kalbi! While finishing up the plate, he started getting slower and seemed full. But he ordered another serving of kalbi! He ate five servings of kalbi, plus rice, plus the stuff at the beginning! According to their calculations, he ate 4800Y worth of food. But according to the restaurant, he only ate 2135Y worth! (I don't really get it, because they were calculating with like, some special price for all-you-can-eat? Because if you ordered it separately from the menu, it'd still be 4800Y..wouldn't it?)
Maru, Yassu, and Tacchon finally decided on a name for their unit! The suggestions were Jimmies and Kanjimi3. ("jimi" means "plain, simple"). They decided on Kanjimi3!
Theme: Ramen (2)
Kanjani8 no Gimon
"Who is your respected senpai?"
Uchi- SMAP's Kimura. Because he's chivalrous, and got married.
Subaru- V6's Sakamoto. Because he's normal.
At the end of the show, Subaru read a few suggestions they'd gotten in for the name of Maru, Yassu, and Tacchon's unit.
aimaimi (I my me)
hamigakiko (toothpaste)
They rejected both of them! But Tacchon seemed a bit interested in the hamigakiko one, cause with that name they could appear in toothpaste commercials. . . .
Theme: Ramen (1)
Hina was gone (filming Hagure Keiji if I remember correctly), so they had a cardboard cut-out of him sitting at the table with the other guys. Subaru commented on how big Hina was smiling. He explained that basically, participating in the show is optional *g*
Kanjani8 no Gimon (Why don't they do this anymore?! Did they run out of questions relating to the group?^^![]()
"Why are there eight people?" They tried to get Uchi to explain but he didn't/couldn't, so the narrator did. (The answer, as many people already know, is: they did activities with 7 people at first, but they regularly appeared on a show on Kansai channel 8, so Kitagawa said, "Let's make it 8 people.")
Hina wasn't in the studio, but he was on location, eating ramen!
Back in the studio, the guys whined about how much they wanted to eat. Subaru, "You're all hungry, aren't you? *evil grin*" It turns out they were brought ramen to eat in the studio! Lucky! Except..it's instant noodles.. While they were eating, Mariko (the female co-host lady) said that recently, kids put in a packet of plum jam into their ramen. Then Yoko said that he used to put potato chips in his.
The intro is quite lovely I think! Nice pictures of the eight, each asking a question or saying something, with a background of space, and a picture of something kinda random (fetus, art, etc.). Much nicer than I make it sound, haha~
Subaru: Where did people come from?
Uchi: How wide is the universe?
Ryo: Why do people argue?
Maru: Why do people love each other?
Yoko: Humans can bring forth questions.
Hina: And by solving those questions, they evolve.
Tacchon: Everything of the future..
Yassu: ...starts with questions
Tonight's theme: plastic surgery.
As a Kanjani fan writing for Kanjani fans, I'm not going to write much about the actual content of the show except for how it relates to Kanjani. The concept of the show is basically: they ask the general public what questions they have about a specific topic, and then try to find the answers to the top three questions. At the beginning of the program, they introduced three questions about Kanjani8 that people had:
(3) Why eight people?
(2) Who's the leader?
(1) What are you aiming for?
Hina asked Uchi about the aims of NEWS, and Uchi said that they're idols (unlike Kanjani8?!), then while continuing to talk, Subaru put his arm around him and kinda..seemed like he was trying to sway his comments~ haha~ Subaru had a cute thing hanging from his hat by the way. And Uchi has a new necklace in addition to his crown one! I wonder what it is?!
Anyway, on with the actual show..^^;
(3) Does plastic surgery ever fail? While reading the question a Michael Jackson song was playing. Um..
Yanai (TV Tokyo announcer) went to talk to a woman about her failed plastic surgery. They didn't show her failed face, but the guys made shocked faces anyway^^; Either that or they looked sympathetic.
Then there were some illustrations telling a story of a woman who got fat removed from around her face, but too much fat had been taken and she had a face like Munch's "Scream."
(2) Does the surgery hurt? A-another Michael Jackson song;;
The doctor said that eyes and nose hurt most if not done properly, but that anything below the neck pretty much doesn't hurt.
Next they followed a 19 year old girl who was going to get plastic surgery on her eyes, nose, and cheeks.. and the scary parts start.. haha^^; They blurred out her eyes, but the guys were surprised about her age, and how cute she was, and how she didn't need to have all that done. While describing the surgeries, Yoko made grossed out faces. Uchi spazzed out when the doctor put eyedrops into the girl's eyes! They're such babies! There was one part where the ENTIRE SCREEN was heavily mosaic-ed, and they all freaked out like crazy. I wonder what was happening;; The nose surgery was about the same. These surgeries are so surprisingly fast! The cheek surgery was a bit longer, and I didn't really understand what they did, but they did something so her cheeks swelled up? Ugh, liposuction grosses me out so bad^^; Subaru and Ryo were unfazed through everything!! Ryo just stared bored, and Subaru seemed more like "uwah~ amazing!!" but not especially grossed out. Three days later they took off the girl's bandages to see the results. Her face did look different, but I think it just made her look older..in a bad way.
In the studio, they tried some surgery-less ways to change one's face. Yoko put on a strange nose thing that's supposed to make your nose higher. Then a long thing for slimming one's cheeks. They all looked so funny trying it!!
(1) How much does plastic surgery cost? (Yes, another Michael Jackson song)
While Yanai was carrying around his mannequin, the top and bottom halves broke apart *g* The most expensive plastic surgery is breast implant surgery, which costs approximately 1,102,500Y. Subaru made a funny "hoeeeee~~" sound while the doctor was talking.
At the end, Subaru told Uchi to go on location, to a pretty place, with flowers *g* Then he scolded Tacchon, Yassu, and Maru for not talking enough. Then it was decided that the three of them would form a "boring" unit LOL.
The subject matter for this episode was fairly deep, but really, I think the show is supposed to be goofy. One of the "experts" they interviewed was a big Doumoto Kouichi fan, and had a bunch of his stuff in her office. Yanai carried around a naked female mannequin a lot. And there was a randomly placed Michael Jackson doll in the hospital. I honestly think the shocking content of this episode was solely for ratings.
