Theme: A no Arashi, O no Arashi
This is a continuation from last week, but I can't remember what happened then or if I wrote about it. Heh^^; The guests were two TV announcers. Anyway, the first experiment is: can you make shaved ice with dry ice? Aiba's prediction is that it'll work, but it'll be smoky like how dry ice is (but Nino pointed out that dry ice only does that when water's poured on it). When Aiba started shaving it, it worked!! It smoked when shaved but not when sitting in the cup. It looked like fake snow. When theyput the syrup in it, it just slid right off!! They thought it had gotten hard, but it was still soft. Sho stirred it around, and some of the syrup stuck together and formed this weird red mass that looked like it was taken out of someone during surgery.
Results: I was surprised!!
The second set of experiments involved carbonating various liquids to see what it tasted like. First, green tea. It poured out and it looked like beer! Aiba tasted it, made a D: face and made the others try it. Ohno, of course, said it tasted good. Nino compared it to alcohol-free beer. Next they did milk. Jun drank it first and said it was "strange." The female announcer commented that it'd be good for kids who don't like to drink, and Aiba said, "Yes! I was just about to say that!" Uh huh
Next was..miso soup?! They quickly pushed it off onto the male announcer, who nearly spit it out! Ohno said it was good though. Next, mentsuyu. (The liquid you dip noodles into, such as when eating soba). The female announcer tried it first. When she put the noodles into the tsuyu, it bubbled over!! She said it tasted good, then kept eating it LOL.
Results: Today's fun too!!
The third experiment was outside the studio, and was to see if they could make a 3-minute hourglass finish in under 3 minutes. First they checked to see if it really lasts three minutes. It did, and Sho rubbed its top, yelling, "He's great!"
A list of the various methods they tried and the time.
1. Expanding the glass with hot water: 3:03. At 70C, the expansion would only be 0.006mm. The reason the time was longer was because when Aiba first put it in the water, the hourglass was tilted a bit.
2. Magnets. The sand in the hourglass is made of iron, so it's magnetic. The magnet kept it from coming out! There was no time because it just didn't move at all.
3. Shake it up and down. They took turns shaking it, because their arms kept hurting. There was about half of it left after 3 minutes!
4. Put it on an asphalt paving machine (it looked like a lawn-mower but moved like a jackhammer). 3:50. The reason these two didn't work was obvious -- when it's being shaken up and down, the sand moves UP as well as down.
5. Tied a string around one end, and spun it around, using gravity. First, Aiba spun around, holding it out in front of himself. After about a minute he made Sho switch with him because he was getting so dizzy. After Sho started getting dizzy, Aiba realized that the stopwatch had stopped running^^; But after Sho fell on the floor, they looked at the hourglass, and the sand had fallen! They tried again to confirm. It had finished in 1:04!!
Results: I'm the happiest I've been in my life up until now!
For O no Arashi, Ohno decided to combine three pictures instead of the usual two. They were: a ferris wheel, a rubix cube, and a lion. Nino's prediction was that the ferris wheel would replace the lion's mane, but he said that if Ohno did that it'd be "boring".. What Ohno drew was .. a lion with a ferris wheel for a mane.. contemplating a rubix cube. Arashi grouped together to decide the price: 3700Y. Ohno seemed disappointed, even though his last drawing only got 120Y! He said he wanted 8900Y, so they changed it to that.
The guests gave Tensai to Kamihitoe Team three Ninomiya.
