Welcome to the new home of Eden!!
Not much has changed, except for this:
I got so many spam comments, that I had to turn off comments for non-registered users. You'd think that would be an available option, but I had to use a hack that someone made. Isn't that ridiculous?! Anyway.. I'm sorry if that's inconvenient for anyone, but I don't really have a choice. Also, when moving stuff over, all the registered users got deleted, so even if you registered previously, please re-register in order to comment. As before, downloads will only be available to members, but I haven't posted any in a long time so don't register in the hopes that there'll be tons of goodies here^^;

I receive power from the fans
When I think of a work-related place, I think of a concert hall! I think that when I'm standing in front of the fans, I'm the most lively. Of course, I get excited. With TV I'm able to go to various locations, which is fun, but but in the end, since the fans are "live" it's very fun. We go to different places for concerts, but because they're watching with the same feelings of support, wherever we go there's always a sense of being deeply moved. I often hear that we give the fans power, but really, I think it's that we're receiving power from them.
I shop for a long time~
For shopping, I like Shinjuku. Rather than liking the environment itself (laugh), it's easy to drop by on my way home after school, and it's a mid-point spot [for meeting] for me and my friends. So the pattern of having tea and shopping in Shinjuku is pretty common. What I like are the "select shops" that have their own individual power. I take a lot of time shopping (laugh). Shinjuku, which has a lot of different shops, is also convenient. Also, in Shinjuku, all my favorite brands are collected together. Normally I like clean, nice clothes. But in the summer I also like surfer-like T-shirts, and brightly colored items.
Just going to the beach is fun
Where I want to go in the summer, it's of course the beach. I've loved the beach ever since I was a little. It's wide (laugh), and it's a place that makes me feel very "open." Also, when I look at the beach, I start to relax. Ever since I was little we'd go to the beach when it became summer, but lately during the afternoon if I have time, I'll drive there. I'll get some fast food along the way, and eat while looking at the ocean. I don't go to swim or anything, I just spend time doing nothing. But just by going to the beach my mood changes plenty. It makes me happy.
NEWS' power will hit you!
Compared to last year, our power is totally different. This year we each have our own separate corners, and and I hope we get noticed from those things as well. We're able to show our distinct personalities. And those parts, we thought up the organization of them ourselves. My aim is to Be Myself! But so that it doesn't become like "Me! Me!" I want to complete "SUMMARY" as NEWS. What should you look out for in my corner? Look forward to it♪ Well then. Please come! I want to hit you with NEWS power, so please feel that power!

When shopping, you need flair!
The places I often shop at are in Shibuya, Harajuku, Shimokitazawa, and Kichijouji. When I go shopping, I spend about an hour wandering around the area. Used clothing shops have various types of clothes, and I like to find one-of-a-kind items. I like shops with cheap, cool clothes. If it's expensive but ugly, there's no point. I like stores with lots of racks that have signs saying "everything's 500Y!" (laugh). When I buy stuff, I'm concerned about the size and silhouette. I like a slightly smaller size. I even wear women's clothes. If I like something, I'll quickly decide. I think that flair is important when shopping!
I like location shoots because it changes my mood
Right now, when I think of a work-related place, I guess it would be the places in my drama. The school and such. The school that appears in "Dragonzakura" was closed down. Rather than studio filming, I definitely prefer outdoor shoots. If you ask why, it's because I like the outdoors better (laugh). Summer is hot, but I'm totally fine with heat. Rather, instead of spending the whole day cooped up in the studio, being outside on location my mood changes. Oh yeah, today, before coming to this photo shoot I went on location in Kisarazu. The filming was done at a spacious, vacant area. Even if the location is distant, I'm totally fine.
Someday I want to live in Hawaii!
For an overseas place I want to visit, I want to go to Hawaii or Sri Lanka. I want to live in Hawaii someday! If I lived there, I think my heart would get bigger(1). Because it seems like the rhythm of my life [over there] would be so slow, I wouldn't get irritated, and I feel like I could be calm. If I lived in Hawaii, I'd probably wake up, then go to the beach. Then I'd eat food, eat ice cream, then sleep (laugh). I'd keep repeating that. I wouldn't work or anything (laugh). Lately I've been going surfing a lot. Hawaii is famous for having big waves. I wonder what it'd feel like riding them? Someday I'd like to experience that feeling.
What I want people to watch is ME (laugh)
"SUMMARY" is burning hot! As usual, I'm doing it at my own pace. This year everyone has their own solo parts, so I think there are a lot of things to look forward to. What do I want people to watch? Well, me of course! (laugh) Of course, the whole thing is the highlight. If you don't pay attention you're going to miss it, so just in case, I want to tell people to watch me. I have drama filming during "SUMMARY" so I think it'll be hard, but I think it'll be fine! There's no problem with physical strength. I'm also not worried about preparing for summer [heat]. Because, I'm strong against summer! I sleep a lot, play a lot, and eat a lot. That way I can overcome [the heat]!
(1) I think that means "become more kind/caring."
Maruyama Ryuhei
Summer is about mosquitoes! It's like they get smarter every year, cause even if you use a screen door, they still come in. I know, cause I've seen them twisting their bodies and coming in. That's definitely something that they all discussed when they were larva, like "If we twist ourselves, we can do it--." Also, when they specifically fly by my ear and buzz, it makes me mad! (laugh)
Yabu Kouta
When I was little, I was playing in a sandbox in the summer, and I got bit so many times by mosquitoes that my whole body was swollen, and I was hospitalized for two weeks. So even now, I have the image that summer=mosquito season, and because I get bothered by mosquitoes, I use insect repellant, but by the time I notice, I've applied too much (laugh). Everyone, it's better if you don't underestimate mosquitoes~.
Miyata Toshiya
Basically, I'm not fond of hot weather. It feels like my body is melting bit by bit (laugh). But I don't have an air conditioner in my room, so it's hard... So, when summer starts, I look for cool places like department stores to loiter at (laugh). So I guess, when I've started spending all day sitting on a bench at a department store, it means that summer has come (laugh).
Fukasawa Tatsuya
A long time ago, I watched a TV show about ghosts and I got so scared that I couldn't sleep, so I crawled into my mom's futon (laugh). Since then, I've been scared of ghosts... Lately I haven't felt as afraid as I used to, but of course, I can't watch horror movies, and I'll still have trouble sleeping. But if J.J.Express had to do a "Tour of Haunted Places," I'd prepare myself, and do it (laugh). Also, I'm afraid of heights....
Takaki Yuya
My grandma said she saw a ghost a long time ago! Just from hearing that story, I got scared...I'm really a coward (laugh). Even now, if I listen to a scary story, I'll remember itbefore I go to sleep and get scared...but I'm the kind of person who can't sleep unless the lights are off, so I have to just endure it, and turn the lights out (laugh). If I had to go on a ghost location? No way (laugh). I might just scream "fwaaaa--" the whole time.
Morimoto Ryutaro
This might not count as a "secret talk", but I'm a crybaby. When I'm teased by Kamei-kun or junior high students, I get really frustrated, to the point that I feel like crying (laugh). Even if I don't cry on the spot, there are times I've cried once I got home... I know that they're just playing, but it's still frustrating (laugh). I guess that means I hate to lose? I don't really understand it myself...but sometime I may get my revenge on Kamei-kun!? (laugh)
Nakajima Yuto
Before, I was a real crybaby, and I was really scared of ghosts! When I'd go into a haunted house at an amusement park, I'd even ask the ghost "are you real?" (laugh). But my mom told me "as long as you don't think scary things, it'll be fine" and I've been pretty much fine since then. Except, when I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I'm still a little scared, so I dash to the bathroom (laugh). I've never actually seen a ghost, but if I saw one...I'm sure I'd be scared (laugh).
Kamei Taku
I'm unexpectedly quite considerate towards people. Though I may not look it (laugh). For example, if I see a little Junior dancing by himself, I'll talk to him. It's sad for him to be by himself. For me, I was also happy when the Juniors around me spoke to me, and I want to show others the same consideration. Really, it's good to be able to act like that anytime, but sometimes when I need to, I can't do it (laugh).
Note: For the Idol Theme Park corner in Potato, 30 or so idols talk about a specific theme. I read them all, but I only translate the ones that are interesting to me, regardless of who it is. If you're interested in knowing what a specific person said, feel free to request, but keep in mind that not everyone participates every month.

July 7th is Tanabata, but for me it was a fateful day -- surely, an "anniversary." After I sent in my application form, the first time I got a call from the [Johnny's] office was July 7th, 1986, so it was the day I was able to join the entertainment world. I don't do any kind of celebration, but every year I think "It's been ___ years since then, I have to keep working." For me, this is the 19th year, and next year is the 20th.
Domoto Tsuyoshi
When I think about the future, I think that my wedding anniversary will be an important day. I don't have a wedding anniversary now~. Right now, if I were to make an anniversary, it would be "first of all, rest on Wednesday!" day. You'd work on Monday and Tuesday, take Wednesday off, and work Thursday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday would be off. If there were three days a week off, I'm sure that I'd be able to concentrate and work better on the other four days (laugh).
Nishikido Ryo
Anniversaries? Of course, that would be today. Because today is the day I have an interview with Potato! (laugh) Every month, I look forward to the Potato interview so very much that I wait, counting on my fingers till it happens (laugh). (Potato: Thanks for looking out for our feelings, but what's the truth?) Hmm, I guess it's like every day's an anniversary? (laugh) I'm just that satisfied, right now.
Tegoshi Yuuya
I want to make a day celebrating my beloved ikura! [salmon roe] What's good about ikura is that when you bite it, the insides come bursting out. On Ikura Day, you'd eat ikura-don, with ikura spread alll over rice! Ikura sushi is also okay. Also, the price would be cheaper than usual. And especially for me, because I'm still a student, I'd like to get it for 30% off!
Akanishi Jin
For anniversaries, of course it's July 4th. Cause that's Independence Day in America... No, really, it's because it's my birthday (laugh). But still, I think I'd like to keep my independent spirit (laugh). By the way, in KAT-TUN, three members were born on the 4th [day of a month]. It's strange...
Nikaido Takashi
About half a year ago, during concert rehearsals Kawai-kun [Kawai Fumito from ABC] said "Here, you can have this" and gave me a pair of jeans. I had respected Kawai-kun as a senior from before, so I was deepy moved. So that day is my important anniversary. But when I tried wearing them, they ripped... (cry). Of course, even now they're an important treasure!
Warning: This is a terrible translation ^_^;;
Theme: Uda Uda Special (clip show / pajama party)
Another fun G no Arashi!! This time, the games they played were all planned by Aiba. It seems weird for them to be in that locker room studio instead of the old one with the big windows, where they could see people in the other building over, and they'd like...communicate by dancing and whatnot.
First, they played "Aiba Sugoroku" (my dictionary says it's "a child's dice game" which really doesn't help, since by watching you can tell at least that), which is a board game thing that Aiba made. The "GOOL" ("goal" for those unaccustomed to Aiba-ese) is to reach the last square, where you with "otoshi-shi-dama" (new year's money; it's supposed to be written "otoshi-dama"). Some of the squares were good (10,000Y sushi from some place), and some were mad (play air guitar on a street corner). One was "Eat the socks of the AD who hasn't bathed in a week!", to which Nino said "I can't eat NORMAL socks.."
First Round (order chosen by janken)
Aiba -- BATSU GAME: pass out tissues on a street corner
Sho -- REWARD: 10,000Y sushi
Ohno -- REWARD: some kind of special Japanese sweets
Nino -- REWARD: 5000Y sukiyaki
Jun -- REWARD: same sweets that Ohno got
CLIP TIME. From A no Arashi, they showed the corn syrup stuff again, and an unaired segment. You know how if you write on a piece of paper with lemon juice, you can't see anything, but when you hold it up to light, the lemon juice parts turn dark and you can read it? Well, Aiba wanted to try doing it with toast. It worked!!
Then they put various things (including shoes, a plate, and weights) on bean sprout seeds to see if the sprouts would raise up the things. They "forgot" to film the progress, so it just looked like shoes on top of a big plastic container of bean sprouts...
Second Round
Aiba -- BATSU GAME: have his face written on
Sho -- REWARD: 5000Y ozouni (New Year's stew stuff)
Ohno -- BATSU GAME: wear a stocking on his head (he had to wear it till the ending!)
Nino -- BATSU GAME: play air guitar on a public street
Jun -- BATSU GAME: play air guitar on a public street
Third Round
Aiba -- BATSU GAME: he had to read "Tokyo Daigaku Monogatari" out loud (I don't know what that is, but it sounded dirty >_>)
Sho -- BATSU GAME: eat AD's socks. since he couldn't actually EAT them, he just smelled them, but he said they really weren't that bad so Jun suggested he smell the guy's shoe, which was apparently NASTY.
Ohno -- BATSU GAME: AD's socks again. they just went straight to the shoe this time
Nino -- BATSU GAME: wear a stocking (they tied the ends of his and Ohno's stockings together)
Jun -- he won the "otoshi-shi-dama"! which was all-you-can-eat crab at a fancy restaurant in Ginza.
[ Sorry, I skipped this part.. speed ball wasn't amusing the first time, and air guitar isn't funny unless you're actually watching it ]
Next, they played "Aiba cards." They spread them all out face-up on the table, then Aiba read off a phrase and the other members had to look for the card that the phrase referred to. For example, "egao wa Arashi no.1 no Aiba-chan" (Aiba-chan whose smile is #1 in Arashi) was a drawing of Aiba smiling, with little sparkles by him, and the other members tiny and in the distance. I liked the "whenever I look at them, Matsujun's eyebrows are thick" one best. Jun made him reread it, but Aiba kinda mumbled and trailed off, scared of Jun's reaction XD Nino won that game, so he got all-you-can-eat shabu shabu at a fancy restaurant in Ginza.
At the end, they completed their final batsu games. In their pajamas, of course. Nino and Jun air guitaring was half lame, half cool. A few girls even stopped and clapped for them. No one would take Aiba's tissues, probably cause he was in pajamas AND had ink all over his face.
