Recently I was talking with Mugi about what it would be like to be a stray cat.
I decided that they would probably be in a kitty gang, and the imagined what it would be like to be a stray cat!
Of course in the stray cat world, there are friends, and enemies.
They choose sides, and can get into vicious fights! These are kitty gangs!
My kitty gang would have 6 cats in it. I wouldn't want to be in a large gang, because then there may be disputes about various things, especially food.
If I were a stray cat, I would be a black and orange calico, with a piece missing from my left ear, and a scar across my nose.
During the day, I would sleep in various well hidden areas around the cities, so that humans would never find me.
Then as darkness set in, I would sleepily crawl out, and stretch my back, and yawn several times.
Then I would clean myself, scratch my neck, and wander off in search of my stray kitty friends.
To find my friends, I would either follow their call, or if I woke up first, I would find a tall area, such as a fence, fire escape,
or large dumpster to perch upon, and the call for my friends.
Each gang has it's own special call. If you hear the call of another gang, it's best to avoid that area!
Once we all gathered, we would deiced what we wanted to do for the night.
The very first thing would be to find food. Sleeping all day is hard work, and you need much food after it!
Usually we have to decide on a restaurant, because they always have the best food.
At the end of the day restaurants always throw out lots of left over food, so the dumpsters in back are always the best!
Sometimes we argue amongst ourselves while deciding on which one to hit.
Once decided, we have to very sneakily slink to our destination.
It's very important to not let humans see us, so that we don't end up in the pound, or in some strange home!
When we get to the restaurant, sometimes there are other gangs already there, and sometimes they have already come, and gone.
If we do run into another gang, we have to decide if we want to stay and fight, or move on.
The easiest way to decide is by how much food they have consumed. If they have already eaten most of it, it's best to leave, and find some place else.
If they just got there, then it's best to stay and fight! Not only will we end up with the food if we win, but gain a higher place in the kitty gang world!
Of course, there are the few times when we loose, and then it's humiliating for everyone.
Once we eat, we usually wander around the city until dawn.
Many fights occur, because when warring kitty gangs see each other, they have to fight for their turf!
Sometimes, if we have had enough to eat, we'll play some games.
Kitty hide and seek is popular. How you play is, you find a human, and then you have to try not to let them see you!
If they do see you, then you have to pretend like you're going to let them catch you, and then run away just before they do!
When it starts to become light out, we go our various ways, and find a good spot to sleep for the rest of the day.
And that would be my life as a stray cat~
